Install guide

Installing your AI-Ready files on Wix

Last updated 19 September 2026

Wix has a robots.txt editor in its SEO settings and lets you add the rest as pages. Only the sitemap stays out of your hands, and it is already doing its job.

1 of the 5 cannot be installed on Wix at all. Those are marked, with the reason, rather than left for you to discover.

You can install this

robots.txt

Files: robots.txt

This is the file that tells search engines and AI crawlers which parts of your site they may read.

  1. In the site's dashboard, go to SEO & GEO, scroll to Tools and settings, and click Robots.txt Editor.
  2. Click View File, then replace the contents with the robots.txt file we sent.
  3. Click Save Changes, then Save.
Blocked by the platform

sitemap.xml

Files: sitemap.xml

This lists your pages so crawlers can find them without guessing.

Not possible on Wix. Wix generates and updates the sitemap automatically and gives no way to upload a replacement file to the site's root.

The sitemap stays the one Wix maintains; there is nothing from our file to install here.

You can install this

llms.txt and llms-full.txt

Files: llms.txt, llms-full.txt

These give AI systems a short plain-text map of your site and a fuller copy of its content, in the format they read fastest.

  1. In the site's dashboard, go to SEO & GEO, scroll to Tools and settings, and click Go to llms.txt.
  2. Click More Actions, then Edit file, then Continue.
  3. Replace the text with the contents of the llms.txt file we sent, then click Save Changes.
  4. Wix manages a single llms.txt file, and there is no confirmed place for a separate llms-full.txt on Wix. Ask us and we will fold the llms-full.txt content into the same file instead of installing it separately.
You can install this

The For-AI page

Files: for-ai.txt

This page states plainly what your business does and how to reach it, written for an AI system reading in one pass rather than a person browsing.

  1. In the Wix Editor, click Pages & Menu, then Add Page (some editor versions show Site Menu, Add Menu Item, New Page instead).
  2. Name the page For AI, set its URL slug to for-ai, paste the content of for-ai.txt into a text element on the page, and publish.
You can install this

The identity block

Files: organization.jsonld

This is the structured data that tells search engines and AI systems unambiguously who you are — the same job a business card does for a person.

  1. In the site's dashboard, go to Settings, then Custom Code, under Development & integrations.
  2. Click Add Custom Code, paste the contents of organization.jsonld inside a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag, set it to load on all pages in the Head, and apply.

When you are finished

Open the verification link in the email that came with your kit. We re-scan the site and send back a one-page sheet listing every file, whether it is live, and what moved. It lands in your inbox by the next morning.

If you never click it, we run the same check thirty days after delivery and send the sheet anyway. Nothing about the install expires, and nothing here needs a developer on standby.
